Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been struggling with my acne lately and spent a lot of time lurking on here. I decided to try CeraVe facewash and moisturizer.. but after two weeks my skin was the worst is has ever been. Angry red inflamed and very painful cc’s. Clearly CeraVe is not for me. I stopped using it and my skin went back to its “normal” pimple palace. I usually use Dermalogica Active Moist and would like to try and find something new that isn’t so pricey. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be in CeraVe that is breaking me out? I tried to compare the ingredients but it was like reading a foreign language, I’m not quite at the point where I understand which ingredients do what and which are common irritants. Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!!!

[skin concerns] How can you know whether flaky skin needs moisture or exfoliating?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
For example, my dermatologist told me not to exfoliate in any form because of my paper thin skin. But I still have obvious flakes that stand out once I put product over top, like sunscreen. They ball up and just stay there. So that means my skin doesn't need exfoliation, but more moisturizing, right? It can also be applied to my hand situation: I suffer with horribly dry hands to the point the flakes would snow if I scratched my hand. So if I tried to exfoliate my hands, they'd obviously be even angrier and bleed. But once I found a great moisturizer, my hands are super smooth and somehow the flakes went away by themselves.Back to my face skin, does the amount of moisturizer matter? I use a pea-sized amount of moisturizer in the morning but I feel like it's not enough and that may be why I still have flaky face. But how can you tell the difference in other cases? Hope this makes sense, please enlighten me on this topic. Are there any articles or your personal experience?

[Misc] Best 3 Skincare finds of 2017? Product and/or practice!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
What's the best Skincare product you stumbled on in 2017? Could be anything from cleanser to sunscreen. Or the best practice eg wait times, no morning cleansing etcMine are PC 2% bha liquid and Retin A gel. The PC makes my pores look empty and my skin so smooth. Just started the retin a and it's working even better so far. And disposable kitchen paper towels! I use these instead of a face towel, the soft ones. I pat over my face after cleansing and they absorb just the surface water leaving my skin moist and soft!Best practice: waiting 10 mins minimum after applying actives before moisturizing. This just works for me.

[Misc] Favorite Products from Garden of Wisdom?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi SCA! I was looking at the GOW website and, yeesh, they have a lot of stuff. Everything looks really promising though. I looked it up on this subreddit and I haven't found a recent product recommendation post about them, so I decided to make one! I'm particularly interested in hearing about their moisturizing/hydrating, exfoliating/brightening, or General acne treatment/prevention products. If any of you have any experiences with their products, please leave them here!! Thanks!!

[meta] Happy New Year! Time for the December DHT response rates ~
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm back! Of course I'm back, I'm not goin anywhere! This time we've got the December Daily Help Thread response tallies, hot off the presses. And man oh man, the end of December was a doozy! While, on average, 98 questions were asked per day from Dec 1 - Dec 25, that number skyrocketed to an average of 132 questions asked per day from Dec 26 - Dec 31. That's like 35 extra questions a day!But more importantly, we had an overall 94.1% response rate!!! How freakin cool is that?! December kicked some serious ass.In the future, I'll have a Monthly response rate in addition to Daily, so we can easily compare the response rates between months. I'm not doing that this time, since November was a bit weird and I consider it more of a test run. From now on though, we'll have cooler data!
