Beauty Tips For Body Care
Cliché title, I know...Skin type: Dry and sensitive. Just looking in the direction of a harsh cleanser hurts my skin. I’ve had acne my entire life and recently flared up again after getting an IUD. Mostly on my cheeks/jaws. I have scarring and hyperpigmentation as well. I don’t regularly wear make-up. My main goals are clearing up active acne, improving scars/hyperpigmentation, evening tone, and preventing new breakouts. I just want to have plump, dewy skin!I grew up using super harsh cleansers with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Where oil was the devil and the drier the better. Who remembers the Clean & Clear 3 step routine?? That orange and pink grapefruit Neutrogena face wash?? I’m turning 24-years-old very soon and I’ve made it a New Year’s resolution to practice better self care really want to improve my skin. I’ve also been “splurging” a bit on better quality products.AM: * Unscented Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. It does the job... nothing special, but just cleanses well and leaves me feeling clean. * Stratia C+C Serum. Just ordered it, don’t have much of a review, yet! I’ve had a great experience with the LG, so I’m hopeful about this. I love Stratia and love to support small businesses. I hope this helps to brighten my complexion and help with hyperpigmentation. * Stratia Liquid Gold. Love, love, love!! I’d even go as far to say this is my HG moisturizer. I’m on my second bottle now and most definitely will be repurchasing. I have a very pale complexion and the yellow color is not an issue whatsoever. It’s super moisturizing, but is lightweight and doesn’t leave me greasy. * Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock. Admittedly, I’ve never really used sunscreen aside from the stuff my mom would bring on beach trips. This is the first sunscreen (outside of being in CeraVe AM) that I’ve consistently used. I actually really like this sunscreen, though!! It spreads well and lasts a loooooong time. It doesn’t leave me oily whatsoever and I’ve honestly noticed a huge difference in my skin since consistently wearing sunscreen.PM: * Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleaning Oil. I want to like this more than I do. It smells so nice, especially at night (I can imagine it’s a lot for people sensitive to fragrances) but it’s nothing special. I’ll continue to use it and finish the bottle, but I’ll unlikely repurchase because of the price point. * Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser. I really like this cleanser and have repurchased. I know foaming cleansers typically aren’t recommended for dry skin, but I really feel like I need one to be “clean”. CeraVe foaming dried me out way too much. Previously used the FAB cleanser, which I liked but overall, I prefer Kiehl’s. It gets me clean without drying out too much and doesn’t leave me with a tight feeling. * Tretinoin 0.05% cream — was prescribed this by my dermatologist. There’s been a very subtle change, but I’m continuing with it. Hoping to increase to 0.1% soon. I didn’t have much of a purge and have been able to combat flakiness with a hydrating routine. I’ve been able to work my way up to using it every night without an issue. * Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream. This is pretty new to me, but so far so good. I originally went to Ulta with a different product in mind, but was sidetracked by this. Reviews convinced me to try it out. It’s a lightweight, somewhat watery texture. It almost reminds me of Neutrogena Hydro Boost water gel. For me, it’s not been life-changing but I’ll continue to use it. * Dr Jart+ CERAMIDIN™ cream. Also fairly new in my routine, but WOAH. I needed something more intensive to combat dryness, especially with using tretinoin every evening. I am a HUGE fan of this, so far. It’s a pricey product (I was able to find it for cheaper on RoseRoseShop) but worth it to me. * I’ve been using Aquaphor as an occlusive overnight, but heading to Target today and will be trying out CeraVe Healing Ointment because I’ve heard great things about it. I feel like a slug going to bed and I’m a side/stomach sleeper so a lot of it wipes off throughout the night... but I’ll continue to use it because I do see a benefit from it.Soooo, this is my routine!! Happy to answer any questions and welcome any suggestions or pearls of wisdom!!

[Product Question] Can The Ordinary's AHA-BHA exfoliating facial give me more acne?
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been using it once a week for about 3 weeks now, and I don't really have sensitive skin, I've been used to chemical exfoliants. However, I've been getting mixed results, considering it feels great, and then I'd suddenly get a zit.

[Routine Help] Dull & Dehydrated Skin prone to clogged pores and small whiteheads
Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! I’m F (23) and looking for some routine help please! Some skin history: I always thought I had combination skin, my cheeks are what I would consider ‘normal’ & my T-Zone becomes shiny frequently - but now I’m thinking it could be because of dehydration / over production of surface oil? I developed acne around my mouth during a period of stress but thankfully that has cleared up with 5% BP, sometimes flaring when I eat poorly. In the past I have definitely over-exfoliated with TO Glycolic Acid and consistent use of BP/ TO Niacinamide + Zinc. (I’ve not used these for several months now).My main issues are closed comedones & clogged pores on my forehead/temples and chin area. (I feel like everything clogs my pores at this stage). And my skin always looks dull, even with a layer of oil/shine on the T/Zone. I get a lot of redness in the centre of my face too which I think is some level of sensitivity.AM: - Garnier Micellar water (if necessary) - La Roche Posay Toleraine Sensitive FluidePM: - Either Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel or Cerave Foaming Cleanser - Paulas Choice BHA liquid a few times a week - La Roche Posay Toleraine Sensitive Fluide - Spot treat with Salicylic acid or BP on any problem areasWould really appreciate any recommendations or feedback on my routine!

Hate how textured my skin looks in sunlight, nothing seems to help what should I do? [acne]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
I’ve been dealing with skin issues for about 9 years now. I’ve tried many, many different products/routines to no avail. My skin has gone through a lot and I’m sure that all the years of me not knowing what to do has damaged my skin, maybe to a point of no return. For the past couple of years I’ve been trying to understand my skin and figure out what it needs but I feel like nothing works on my skin. No matter what I do I feel like my skin looks “dirty” I don’t feel comfortable even looking at my face in certain lightings/times of day because I’m just so sick of seeing how bad my skin looks. Living with bad skin for years has really robbed me of a lot confidence, and happiness. I know it’s superficial but at 20 years old I’m fed up with my skin, I just want clear skin more than anything rn lol.My skin has slightly gotten better over the years but it’s not where I want it to be at all. I feel that my skin does not loon like that of a normal 20 year old. Besides my acne I also have prominent fine lines that just make my skin look worse overall. It worries me that the older I get the worse my skin will look and I’ll still be dealing with acne.Currently my issue is texture. My skin looks very textured and bumpy. I also have very large pores on my cheeks and nose, and get cystic acne on my chin. They don’t always look so bad, it depends on the lighting. Sometimes my face can look smooth and bump free and other times not so much, hence i hate the way my skin looks in sunlight. Makeup also accentuates all the bumps. My skin does not feel smooth either. I also feel like my skin just looks dirty and kind of lifeless. My dream would to be have skin that not only looks smooth but feels smooth and glows. My skin is also quite sensitive I feel like every little thing causes more little bumps to appear. I feel like I’m walking on thin ice with my skin because I never know what will make it freak out. I’ve had this kind of texture for 4-5 years now and my pores have significantly gotten bigger over the years. This is embarrassing but after visiting an esthetician I discovered that what I thought were black heads on my cheeks are actually hairs which I think contributes to my pore size. I messed up and starting shaving my face and now I cannot figure out how to get rid of the hairs because they don’t grow long enough for me to get them waxed or threaded and tweezing them turns them into bumps.I’ve tried many products that supposedly help with texture Here’s everything I’ve tried to get rid of these bumps and acne in general.AHAs, lactic acid, glycolic acid, and mandelic acidBHAs, salicylic acidBenzoyl peroxideMonthly microdermabrasion for a year done by an estheticianMonthly chemical peels for a year by an estheticianAt home chemical peelsHaving a minimal skincare routineHaving a harsh skincare routine, ex putting lemon and baking soda on my faceAdaplene 0.1% for over a year and Adapalene 0.3% for 4 months (currently using)sulfur soapoxy padsdrinking lots of water 2-3 literscutting out dairybirth control (currently on)I’m currently seeing a dermatologist who so far has prescribed me adapalene 0.3%, clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide, Minocycline which I can no longer take although it did help.My routine:(AM) - Wash face with warm/cool water - Apply Shiseido Senka uv sunscreen spf 50 or Elta MD uv daily spf 40 - If my skin feels dry I apply TO natural moisturizing factors(PM) - Wash face with PCA skin creamy cleanser - Apply adapalene 0.3% gel all over face except nose - Apply clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide on nose - Apply either squalene oil, rose seed hip oil, or the TO natural moisturizing factors. Recently I haven’t been using the oils.Once a week use TO AHA BHA peeling solution Taking birth control.pics

Beauty Tips For Body Care

Is there any way to get rid of forehead expression lines with topicals or is Botox the only thing that is effective? [misc]
Beauty Tips For Body Care
My forehead expression lines aren’t super noticeable yet I don’t think. But I can notice them. I’ve been moving my forehead less and moisturizing and using diferin for two years but unsure if there’s any progress. When I wake up they are always deeper than usual which I don’t understand I find it unlikely my eyebrows are raised when I sleep.Do any products actually help get rid of these lines or just Botox?
