[Misc] Actually Followed my Skincare Routine for the Past 60 Days!
Beauty Tips For Body Care
60 days ago I decided to keep track of my completing my skincare routine at least once a day (I work varying rotating shifts as a nurse) using the Streaks app. Friday was actually day 60 and not only am I proud of myself for sticking through it even trialing some new products but my skin looks great! Probably the best it’s ever looked in my 36 years of life.Sorry for the brag but not many people would understand my accomplishment.

Ok, this is weird but I feel this is the best place to possibly find answers.I feel my skin is the best during a hangover, meaning i have drunk heavily in the past week. This happens for me only maybe 2 times a year at most since i don't really drink. Meaning, getting data was not easy and it's something i've observed for more than 10 years.My skin is more plump, not dry, all the usual eczema or fungal acne issues seem to disappear. In fact, i get a few big white heads? or cysts? (1-2mm) that t have been there for months come to the surface and can easily be scratched out. Even my mother who is a critical asian month comments that my skin is so beautiful. Something i've heard many 3 times in my life. Each time im nursing a hungover lolSo, what could be up?Also, im in my mid thirties and my blood alcohol probably need a week to recover to normal now. And once I'm back up and running, my skin goes back to it's normal shit texture. It's dry, I have bumps and PIH etc etcAny insights?

[MISC] Mineral Sunscreen is Not for Everyone
Beauty Tips For Body Care
One thing that’s been annoying me lately is the push for mineral-only sunscreens. I understand the potential harm to coral reefs but as a POC with dark, oily skin, I cannot wear most mineral sunscreens. (And forget about the drugstore options.)This is just another example of the lack of inclusiveness in the beauty / skincare space. Apprently, being darker skinned and unwilling to have a greasy and/or white cast over your skin means that you don’t care about the environment.If the environment was so important, perhaps a formulation of dark-skin friendly mineral sunscreen should be the priority instead of shaming people who are unable to blend a thick, white, goopy mineral sunscreen on their facial complexion. But of course, the rhetoric prevails over the actions.
