[Product Question] just started using Paula's Choice BHA 9, skin has significantly worsened. How long should stick to the product before decided what to do?

I'm fairly new to both this sub and creating a skincare routine, so I'm still quite clueless so please bare with me through this post. I have A LOT of flesh coloured bumps all along my forehead, nose and inner sides of my cheeks. I've forgotten what the condition was called, I just know that when a fellow member on this sub posted a photo of himself with the same problems as me, a majority of the comments were recommending the Paula's Choice BHA 9.I ordered the trial size, which comes in two little tubes. I've used up one of the tubes over the course of the last week, applying it right before bed after I've washed my face. I've heard of the purging period, and I can definitely say my skin has worsened a significant amount since using. The flesh coloured bumps seem to have increased in number and some have turned more red than flesh colour.Does anyone here know how long this period will last? How long should I continue the treatment before deciding whether to continue/discontinue the product?
