[Research] My GP told me that dermatology is moving away from using antibacterials to treat acne - does anyone know if this is true/where I can read up on this?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I went to my GP this past week to ask about clindamycin and he told me that he is hesitant to perscribe it to me because recently the field has been moving away from prescribing anti bacterials to treat acne. He said that clindamycin gel was something I could try if our other alternatives didn't work, but eventually I should switch off of it and not stay on it for too long.I went home with Tactuo instead which I am happy to try (Retin A didn't do too much for me), but I am also curious to see if this is true. I've been on Cyclen which has taken care of my hormonal huge cysts but still getting some persistent little bumps that eventually flare up. I thought antibacterials would be a good try for me since I've gone the hormonal route and retinoid route but looks like that didn't happen this visit!
