[Hair Removal] Help! Serious question about epilating and ingrown hairs

Beauty Tips For Body Care
TL;DR: is my 5 year old epilator too old and giving me ingrown hairs? Is it time to buy a new one?I've been epilating for ~5 years now and from the moment I started I've been hooked! Love all the benefits of this kind of hair removal, I recommend it to every lady I know. But this summer I've been experiencing a lot of problems with ingrown hairs on my legs. Not the regular amount that can occasionally be expected and is usual - a lot! Every time I've epilated lately it feels as if EVERY hair gets stuck trying to break through resulting in hundreds of red bums. Not only unappealing aesthetically but also painful :(I exfoliate often, use a specific moisturizer, clean, wash and disinfect my epilator head regularly, so I'm a little stumped as to why this is happening? Is my old faithful finally ready for the trash? Any recommendations for good brands? I've read that ceramic is better at preventing ingrown hairs, is this true or just more expensive for no reason? The epilator is a Braun and at least 5 years old if that info is relevant....thanks everyone! It's getting frustrating
