I've been shaving my pubic hair for years, but the past year or so I started to get some pretty nasty ingrown hairs. Like, the kind that would become a sort of large acne cyst with the hair stuck deep inside, sometimes multiple hairs, and in order to extract the hair(s) I'd need to do warm compresses and sometimes prick the cyst with a needle to release the pus and get to the trapped hair underneath. After more than a handful of these, I decided to stop shaving my entire pubic region and for the past year I've been just shaving my bikini line.For the most part it's been smooth sailing (relatively), with a few minor inflammations from ingrown hairs here and there but nothing as bad as the cyst ingrowns I used to get. However, this week I got two "ingrowns" on my bikini line after shaving...at least I think they're ingrowns. They became cysts like the ones I used to get from shaving, and I could see a dark spot underneath in each one. I also felt significant inflammation under each spot, and by the next day, they each had white "heads".Here's a photo- cyst #1 had one "head" and cyst #2 had two visible white spots. The pics are cropped very close to the inflammations and don't show genitalia but NSFW because they are located in that region. Apologies for the blurriness, it's because I cropped the picture so small, but I think the white part is quite obvious:cyst # 1: http://i.imgur.com/hhKDBuA.pngcyst #2: http://i.imgur.com/wjF6o1F.pngSo, I just treated them how I used to treat the bad ingrown hair cysts- I put warm compresses on them, and then attempted to extract the white pus with sharp tweezers with an aim at getting at the hair underneath. I was able to get some of the white substance out, but could not reach the hair(s) in either spot, and I stopped and put antibiotic ointment on when I realized that finding the hair wasn't gonna happen.I'm concerned because now they seem like a combination of a cyst and an ulcer- none of my ingrown hairs have ever turned into this type of swollen cut, and I've had some really bad ingrown hair (cysts 1.5" in diameter). These cysts weren't nearly that big, but the cuts are quite concerning, and furthermore, they are still cysts- not sure if the pic shows it clearly, but I can feel significant inflammation under the cuts, as if there's still pus locked in there and potentially hair. But I'm scared to mess with it anymore because of how bad it looks, and I'm worried this is something more serious than ingrown hairs, could it even be cancer??
