[Routine Help] When to admit defeat with OCM

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I really truly wanted OCM to be my magic remedy for my SFs, but it’s time for me to admit that it is not. I’ve been doing it for two months now with 4:1:1 ratio of mineral oil, olive oil, and tea tree oil. It keeps my skin from producing tons of oil like it used to, and makes it feel really smooth (my SFs don’t feel terribly bumpy though they look the same), but it’s also making me break out in places that have rarely seen any acne. Instead of just my pretty big SFs on/next to my nose and a gentle smattering of CCs on my nose, chin, forehead, or mouth area, I am now breaking out all over my cheeks and jawline (a couple cysts and whiteheads). I didn’t even notice that it was this bad until today because my skin feels really good so I haven’t been looking at it too closely. Also, when I first started OCM I did breakout a little. It got steadily worse so I started double cleansing two weeks ago to see if that would improve things. Alas, it hasn’t. I now wash and then moisturize with two drops of oil. I really like that I don’t feel the need to slather my face in lotion (it used to peel in places) because I’m not drying it out, but obviously I’d rather not be breaking out this much. Should I keep going with the oil or ditch it? Is there a moisturizer out there that is oily that I should switch to? Is it time to go see a derm?Routine: Wakeup, go to practice and get sweaty, come home and shower at 8am. Usually just rinse my face. Sometimes I use Olay’s Oil Minimizing Toner but I don’t feel like it does anything. My mom gave it to me because she didn’t want it, so feel free to tell me to use something else. At night I shower or just wash my face with Neutrogena ultra gentle daily cleanser, followed by a couple of drops of oil to moisturize and then maybe the toner if I didn’t use it in the morning.Thank you for the help. The struggle is real.
