Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm pretty new to following a routine, so please be kind!I'm a 23 year old female struggling with some breakouts over the last year or so. I've always had very dry skin with occasional eczema in the winter. My face was always very dry with very few pimples. My routine was always to wash my face with something gentle and to moisturize at night and morning-- that's it. I always used Eucerin brand everything because that's what my dermatologist recommended.Since last year, though, I've been getting some serious breakouts on the sides of my face under my cheekbones and, more recently, around my mouth. A lot of these pimples are small, but I do get a good number of deep, painful sores. They first happened when I switched cleansers but have persisted for over a year despite throwing out the cleanser after a week. I first tried about five different spot treatments at first, but nothing worked; I just kept getting more and more pimples in the same spots. I then tried Finacea for two months as recommended by my dermatologist, which did little to nothing. It's been frustrating. About two weeks ago, I decided to start exfoliating with an AHA and also switched toothpastes to an SLS free one. The AHA has seemed to help with the pimples on my cheeks, but my skin has been noticeably oilier lately and I've been getting more random pimples (nose, forehead, etc). I never have oily skin or allover breakouts! My routine right now:AM: Eucerin Daily Protection sunscreen PM: wash with Cerave hydrating cleanser, exfoliate with St Ives exfoliating pads, wait ten minutes, then moisturize with Cerave in the tubI'm exfoliating daily but tonight I skipped it and thought I'd go down to every other day. Does anyone have any advice on how to try to clear up all these breakouts on dry skin or things I should change/add in my routine? I'm at a loss here. Dealing with pimples for the first time at 23 has not been fun. :(
