Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, I just found this sub reddit. I have had keratosis pilaris throughout all my life, I have a little bit on the sides of my face, and it's all over my upper arms. I have been to a dermatologist and he told me it was incurable but prescribed me to salicylic acid (I think it was a 5% cream), and told me it would lower the effects, it didn't work very well. I've also looked at some forums and browsed some of the older threads on this sub-reddit.I saw that some people had some results with using coconut oil. I have coconut oil (it's a version brought from the supermarket) and I apply it on my arms during my shower, like soap. I put it on, then scrub it all on my arms a bit, and finally wash it off. Is this the correct application for coconut oil?I have heard about urea and sea buckthorn products, I have no idea where to get that in Australia, but have any of those worked for any of you?Personally, I have found that using cleanser every night in addition to moisturiser every morning and night (I use the ultraceuticals brand) helps out a bit with minimising the reddish appearance a bit. Nothing has ever worked for my arms, but as I grew a bit older it got a little bit better. If you have had the skin condition are there any other things that have worked for you?
