[Skin Concerns]

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello, i am completely new here!I guess i should start with an image of my head and what i have been waking up to for a couple weeks now. http://imgur.com/a/dl6W1Background/situation: I did something EXTREMELY stupid about a year and a half ago and used a large amount of baking soda on my head. Please do not comment on how stupid this was or link to something that says not to do this, i understand this. It immediately caused a large amount of hair loss, and did not help what i was trying to use it for. I mention this because i believe it is related to the worsening skin problems i am having now. A couple months ago i looked at my scalp and noticed thick, hard, crusty splotches of skin around the front area of my head. This naturally freaked me out, and i started literally pulling them off which dragged chunks of hair off of my head. I believe this is called plaque psoriasis? I'm not entirely sure. Eventually i shaved my head, which helped. The plaque isn't anywhere near as obviously visible, but not completely gone either. At the very least i'm not experiencing the loss of hair anymore, and i intend to keep my hair at or much less than the length you see in the photo. I will probably shave my head again, once the semester is over.Nowadays i wake up to the flakiness you see in the photo. I think it might be some kind of fungus related condition, but i don't know.I will be speaking with a dermatologist as soon as possible, of course.Routine: My shampoo is selsun blue with salicylic acid 2%, with alba botanica conditioner and i shower every couple days, but have increased the frequency since the flakiness on my forehead has increased. I have been using coconut oil on my nose and forehead for a long time, and have been using coal tar and shea butter every so often. For a long time my diet has been horrendous (i don't know how to cook so constant eating out) and my exercise has been minimal. (i have a desk job, but i try and get up at least once an hour-hour and a half and drink as much water as i can) Since around early summer i started eating an apple and banana for breakfast, with sushi for lunch, and then whatever for dinner. I eat a lot of chipotle if i do go out to eat, because it's "cheap" with no processed crap or bad stuff. If i do make something for myself it's likely salmon with rice and assorted veggies.Questions: How do i reverse the effects of ruining the skin barrier from using the baking soda? What should i do to help the skin problems i have been having? Product recommendations?Thank you /r/skincareaddiction!
