Beauty Tips For Body Care
My mom is 51 and has not been kind to her skin. She doesn't have a ton of wrinkles, but the ones she has are deep. My parents are ranchers, which means she spends a lot of time outside (and always has--she has lots of sun damage). Her skin is often dry/dehydrated, red, and looks wind-chapped. She says she hasn't worn liquid foundation in years because it only seems to accentuate the problems. She's not worried so much about the appearance of lines, but the lack of moisture. These days I think she's resigned to having dry, wrinkled skin, and hasn't bought a moisturizer or cream in probably 3-4 years. She says nothing seems to come close to making a difference, that Clinique or whatever isn't made for people who work like she does. She favors occlusives because "they trap moisture" and uses coconut or almond oil, both to cleanse and moisturize. That is the extent of her routine, aside from sunscreen. (I recommended CeraVe in the tub, btw. No word on whether she's bought it or if she has, if she likes it)The main thing I want to help her with is her lip product. She loves this silicon-based lip renewal remedy from C.O. Bigelow. She will sometimes even use it on dry spots on her face. They stopped making it a couple of years ago and she can't find it online through other sellers anymore. (I'd link it, but I can only find tiny pictures and no ingredient list.) She likes it because: it "sinks in" and leaves no residue, it moisturizes super well, and it makes her makeup go on smoother when she uses it in dry areas other than her lips.I have sampled Back to Nurture by Philosophy which is an oil/gel, and it seems to share some of the characteristics, namely that it sinks in well and doesn't leave a greasy texture. However, I don't really know how it would fare against weathered skin. My skin is sensitive and combination/dehydrated, so it's not a fair comparison. So: does anyone have rave reviews for products? Thanks!
