Several years ago, my scalp was severely damaged by a colourist who put bleach in it and then threw me under a heat lamp for 90 minutes.Since then it's had pus-filled lumps that randomly start bleeding. Lately it's gotten worse: drier, full of scabs that randomly fall off at the worst possible times, horribly itchy. There are patches of hair missing. I can't really get haircuts and I feel about as gross as I look.I took some pictures before hopping into the shower (yes, I cleaned my ears in there, and yes, leaving the flakes in my hair was intentional) and you can view them here:not for the faint of heartI've seen a half-dozen doctors, and they've just said it's folliculitis/scalp acne mixed with psoriasis. My GP referred me to a dermatologist but my appointment isn't until mid-June.I'm almost thinking about going to the emergency room, but that seems kind of silly for pimples (even if they do hurt and itch badly). Should I? If I do go to the hospital, is there anything I should say?Is there anything else I can try until the dermatologist can see me? Another 4.5 months looking and feeling like this is not very appealing.So far I've tried antibiotics (minor success), ketoconazole shampoo, salicylic acid shampoo, coconut oil, and vitamin E oil.Thank you!
