[Skin Concerns] Some cuts on my back resulted in scars. Would a chemical peel eventually take care of this?

Like the title says, some poorly maintained wounds on my back have resulted in scarring. They are a little raised and can be felt when I run my fingers over them. Would something like a chemical peel reduce these over time? Here is a poor quality photo if it helps.
