Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello all, I am a noob to this sub, but having struggled with acne since early adolescence and sensitive skin since birth, I'm familiar with skin care in general. Background: sensitive combination skin. Acne prone, sometimes triggered by dairy, sometimes hormonal. I tend to be clearer but dryer in winter and oily and pimpley in the summer.Past product info: I was using BareMinerals deep cleansing foam and combination moisturizer for many many moons with reasonably great results. Then they reformulated the moisturizer and told me to try the Smart Combination smoothing lightweight emulsion and the trouble started. At first it was just an extra breakout here and there, but as spring started my skin began to swing wildly from an oil slick (make up would run off in a couple of hours in my T zone) to a flakey mess (mostly on my chin, it was also itchy). I put some argan face serum on the dry spots, cut my washing down to once a day, and decided I needed a change.Current product info: So this weekend I looked up this sub's product recommendations and decided to try CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser and Simple Kind to Skin protecting lightweight moisturizer SPF 15. Problem: I have only been using these products since Sunday night, but I am having the worst chin and forehead breakouts I have had since high school. My husband says it looks like a rash on my forehead (thanks husband) but I can't imagine what would be causing it and it doesn't itch. I haven't made any other product changes and my diet is normal. The skin that isn't broken out is lovely, not oily and not dry. I picked these products because they are advertised as gentle and balancing, it seems impossible that I would be allergic to them. My skin IS sensitive but usually that just means I can't use harsh acne treatments.QUESTION SLASH SOS: Is this my skin just flailing around while it balances out its craziness, or do I need to switch products AGAIN? How long should I wait to see if things even out and clear up? If I do need to switch, any recommendations? Basically just HALPPP.TL;DNR: Wildly unbalanced skin led me to switch on Sunday night to CeraVe foaming facial cleanser and Simple Kind to Skin lightweight moisturizer with SPF. Now it's Wednesday morning and I'm breaking out like whoa - do I ditch the routine or wait it out?
