Beauty Tips For Body Care
So, I'm turning 40 in a few days (ack!) and decided maybe as a real grownup I should take better care of my skin. For the past decade my routine has been to wash with just water and a wet wash cloth or just water or just not to wash (yikes, I know)and, and this is key, to use Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream immediately after getting out of the shower. As in, in the first 30 seconds, or my face gets hot and flushed and feels awful. I need to lock in that moisture I guess. Or the oats help soothe my skin? Not sure why it works, but it does. However, I have giant pores, really not cool, and the skin texture isn't great in some areas. I tried doing a more grown up routine, but everything leaves my face feeling tight, or itchy, or not moisturized enough. (tried a bunch of paula's choice stuff, and tried the beginner routine here. Even Cerave in a tub isn't as moisturizing, or at least doesn't feel as nice/soothing as my Aveeno baby stuff). But, the Aveeno Baby stuff doesn't say non comedogenic, and I wonder it that is why I have giant pores. Or is it just that I haven't been cleansing much at all, and that I haven't exfoliated? I have recently added stridex now and then, and my skin tolerates it (just in the area where I have large pores...nose/chin) so maybe I could keep using my Aveeno baby stuff, and just cleanse properly and use a BHA when needed? (AHA and my skin don't get along at all). These are the ingredients in the Aveeno Baby cream...do you see a culprit there for the giant pores? Is there something similar I could use that would be better? Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Petrolatum, Mineral Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Flour, Carbomer, Ceteareth-6, Methylparaben, Sodium Citrate, Tetrasodium EDTA Stearyl Alcohol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Propylparaben, Ethylparaben, PEG-25 Soy Sterol, Benzaldehyde, Hydrolyzed Oats, Butylene Glycol, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract.
