Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello! So about 2 months ago I traveled via airplane for the first time in 3.5 years. I can't remember when I noticed this (either as soon as I got off the plane, during the flight, etc.), but let's say rather immediately, my lips became EXTREMELY chapped.I've never had them this chapped before in my life, not even during the harshest winters. It wasn't even a super long flight, about 3 hours, so it's not like I was in the air for some extreme amount of time (like traveling to the other side of the world, for example). I was drinking a lot of water too, as I always try to since I'm a pretty active person. This was in February and I went to a warmer climate (10-15 degrees Fahrenheit warmer) than where I live so it's not like I went to some place excessively cold and drier.I was with my mother who definitely doesn't drink enough water (she's not conscious about it like I am because of my activity level) but she was fine. However, she travels a lot for her job, almost monthly, sometimes more, for the last 4 years, so maybe her body is more used to it. She had me use some Clairins eye cream she had (????) and said to trust her, it would work even though it was eye cream. Guess what, it did not! Before this trip, I would fly a few times per year (this gap of 3.5 years is random coincidence) and never, ever had this problem. I tried everything----drinking tons of water, using the best lip balms possible (nothing cutesy, straight up vaseline lip treatment), not licking my lips, etc. The trip was 3 days and my lips didn't return to normal until a couple of days after I returned. For context I don't think I have extreme dry skin and would be prone to this sort of thing; I consider myself to be a combo-oily type. Though I know lips are different than face. Still including this just in case. The skin on my face did not feel affected by this trip, just my lips.I'm making the same trip actually next week and don't want this to return. It was uncomfortable and also somewhat embarrassing!Could this have happened because it had been so long since I had flown that my body just wasn't used to it? How can I prevent it? Any holy grail plane travel product staples I'm missing out on? I feel like I did everything right honestly and am so confused!Thank you!TL;DR: Flew on a plane first time in 3.5 years, extreme chapped lips, drank enough water/used lip balm, etc.; passenger I was with (who travels a lot) was fine; never had this before when I flew more often; face skin was fine, just lips were extremely dry
