Beauty Tips For Body Care
I don't have a proper camera to take pictures of this, but this is basically the timeline of events. 3 weeks prior: lips start developing painful itchy/tingly spots on left upper lip and right bottom lip. Skin around lips also slightly irritated and red, concentrated in what feels like two spots. Feels like skin is starting to thicken, possibly friction induced. Lip balm does not help. 2.5 weeks prior: Figure it might be a cold sore or Herpes simplex 1 based on symptoms. Begin using abreva three times a day. Feel no difference during week of use. Itching/tingling sensation subsides, but skin continues to chap. Dry flaking skin feels sharp and uncomfortable, and doesn't soften with use of lip balm. Start to think it may be a reaction to makeup, but patch tests on inner arm turn up nothing. 2 weeks prior to now: Tingling reoccurs whether lips using lip balm or not. Skin is extremely dry and tight, resembles a healing scab over entire lips and edges of lipline. Hurts to talk, laugh or otherwise stretchlips in any way. Skin has started to slpit and bleed if I open my mouth too wide. Healing ointment and lip balm help in the short term, but they wear off in the night and the dryness and tightness returns by morning. It's getting rather irritating now. The surface of my lips has gotten a bit numbed and it feels like the skin of my lips has gotten thicker and bumpier. It feels like lip balms and ointments sink into the skin way too fast and I have to reapply every 15 minutes or else the skin peels and feels uncomfortable. Is there something I should look out for or try? This has never happened to me before and it's worrying, but I can't afford to see a derm.
