[Skin Concerns] Is it normal for skin to become red and hot for a minute after applying moisturizer?

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I was pretty convinced I had an issue with glycerin for a while, as whenever I'd apply any kind of moisturizer (even glycerin + water) I'd get red hot skin and pimples on my cheeks almost immediately. So I stopped using moisturizer for a while. Now I'm just thinking that those were pimples that were already there and they just would stand out when I put on moisturizer. My skin's pretty clear right now and yesterday I tried moisturizer just on the apples of my cheeks (the least acne-prone area for me) yesterday and though they did get red and hot for a minute or so, and I wiped the excess off as soon as I could, afterwards I looked SO good, I totally forgot how nice moisturizer is. So I'm thinking about trying it today on the more acne-prone places on my face but I'm worried. It's not actually possible that I developed pimples right after applying moisturizer before, right? So I guess my question is, if my skin gets red and hot for a few seconds after applying moisturizer, should I stop using it? I can't find glycerin-free moisturizer.
