Beauty Tips For Body Care
For about 5 years, I've gotten whiteheads that leave hyper pigmentation which lasts for 1-12 months on my face, always making me look like I have much worse skin than I do. But now, something even more awful has happened - cystic acne! Two months ago I got my first cyst, about the size of a pinky nail, and now I get a new one about every week or two. They are always around my chin/mouth, are exclusively the pinky-nail size, and last for about 3 weeks as a bump before losing their "thickness" and becoming just large, bright red dots that never seem to fade. I use CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser 2x daily, BP 10% spot treatment, and Ole Henrikson salicylic acid at night. I do not wear foundation, and all my products are non-comedogenic. Nothing in my routine has changed - I know cystic acne is mostly hormonal, but I've never had breakouts that line up with my periods, and even now the cysts appear random. I don't feel extra stressed out, and I only started taking Sprintec birth control a month ago per the order of my derm to try treating the cysts (no change thus far). I try icing forming cysts, in addition to heating them after 72 hours to help them heal, but I feel these actions just irritate the skin further.Does anyone have any insight to what could be forming the cysts, or how I can help existing ones heal? Any and all advice would be EXTREMELY appreciated! It makes me stressed to leave the house.
