Beauty Tips For Body Care
My mother is in her 50's, and grew up in texas in the heat next to the beach. She used to lay out for hours with baby oil on her skin tanning to a crisp, and she never really stopped. Now, we live in the dry southern california desert. She firmly believes that you need many hours of straight sun per week to be healthy, and thinks skincare is a joke. She thinks her rosacea will just have to stay because she likes alcohol, spicy food, and the sun too much. She washes her face with regular bar soap and sometimes uses the reformulated pond's cold cream as a moisturizer. Then she slaps on a bunch of foundation and mascara. At night, she washes her face AND EYES with soap. Her face is so dry and broken that it hurts to look at. She has no visible capilaries, but her redness is through the roof. The rest of her skin, is brown and thick. I got the scinic honey AIO ampoule last week for myself and it seems to be a godsend so far, definately HG quality. I decanted it into a bunch of 1oz individual tins for convenience, and gave her one. I told her it was basically a moisturizer, and she said that was great because she really needed moisture. I asked if her face hurt, and she said that it hurt a lot, all the time. With my foot in the door, I asked more questions and found out about the bar soap. I told her it was bad, but she said that every other cleanser she tried hurt more. I looked at her products and saw that they were mostly salycilic acid acne washes. She has no acne. So, I made her a little tiny routine out of products I love. Here it is: AM and PM are the same:*Simple refreshing gel cleanser*Scinic honey AIO ampoule*Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream*Biore aqua rich watery essence I made her try each one of these on her arm to show her, and she loves how they all smell and especially how silky the hydro boost feels. I chose the honey AIO because it has niacinamides and she really needs more than one good moisturizer. When I told her how gentle the simple cleanser is, she looked like a kicked puppy that was afraid to hope again. She was very excited about trying it. I'm hoping that it will work out for her. It's basically a smaller version of my routine. Im hoping that she'll experience less facial pain and come back for more, at which point I'll give her my beautiful jojoba oil for oil cleansing and moisturizing. I take much better care of my dry skin than she does, and I still need three layers of moisture to not die, so I'm hoping I gave her enough. Does anyone have any specific tips on rosacea? Anyone think this routine isn't right? If this routine doesnt work, I'll giver her my sudocrem and aquaphor, too. Maybe even some lanolin. I'll try to update on what she says after using it for a day or two TL;DR: my mom has dry, damaged skin with rosacea, so I tried to make her a tiny routine. Anyone have any rosacea tips?
