Beauty Tips For Body Care
I got a chemical peel after reading heaps of reviews of the many benefits. I knew there were some risks of hyperpigmentation and possibly even scarring, but I accepted them. My main motivation for getting the peel was reducing light sun spots / sun damage (I'm 28 and live in a sunny place) and light smile lines. Just wanna get ahead of the aging game, ya know? I had it done professionally by a reputable medical spa with lots of happy customers.Today marks three weeks since I got the peel. For the first couple weeks, I had a couple zits on my chin, which they said was normal purging. For the past week, though, things have taken a bad turn.Just about every time I look in the mirror, tiny bumps have multiplied around my chin and lower cheeks, and a few on my forehead. I never had an issue with closed comedones before this peel. I've also never had more than 2-5 zits on my face at the same time, so this is discouraging. The texture of my face feels rough.I have gotten rid of a few of them that turned white just by careful popping, which healed OK. However, I messed up and tried to pop another one that wasn't ready. Yes, I know how bad this is, and I won't do it again. The whole thing has given me so much more stress than I have had about my skin in 3+ years. I used to have painful cystic acne (about 1 cyst per month). Now I'm stressed at the possibility of developing a whole new skincare regime just to get rid of this new problem.I hope folks will really consider the downsides of a peel before getting one. I previously had an IPL and, while it cost more, and you may need multiple treatments, I think that's a safer choice for reducing sun damage. You also don't have downtime. (I had to sit in my apartment for 6 days while waiting to peel.)Food for thought!
