[Acne] PCOS-related acne, dermatologist appointment today, feeling frustrated

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I was recently diagnosed with PCOS. I'm 17 but have struggled with acne (not just normal teenage acne) since age 12/13. I don't remember what it was like to have clear skin. When I say acne everywhere, I'm not exaggerating. That means moderate-severe inflammatory acne on my face (occasional cysts near period), and pustules on my chest, shoulders, back, lower back, butt, and inside of my thighs.I went to a new dermatologist today (he's very experienced, works in NYC) and he was pretty stunned by my acne. He said he typically doesn't think anything below the upper back is acne, so he said he found my condition worrisome and that it's a pretty severe mix of both acne and folliculitis. He said it's probably a result of PCOS. He prescribed me birth control, doxycycline, tretonin, aczone, and a Neutrogena body wash. I feel like that's A LOT of different medication, and I've never even been on antibiotics. I'm considering just doing the birth control and aczone, as I know tretonin can make things a thousand times worse before they get better and there's not a chance that I'll leave my house looking any worse than I already do.Does anyone have any suggestions for PCOS-related acne? What works? What doesn't?
