So I've had a sebaceous cyst on the side of my nose, very close to my eye for 6+ months. It's been injected with cortisone by my derm 4 separate occasions. It always came back after about a week. I was told I needed to have it removed by a plastic surgeon. I actually saw one 2 days ago and he told me he was worried about its proximity to the eye so wanted me to see a specialist. This morning, magically, the cyst looked like it was starting to form a head. It had never looked like this before. Tonight, after my shower I pushed on it a little bit and boom. It burst. A lot of blood came out and it's 90% gone. But I can still see part of it under the skin and can't get any more to come out. I'm worried the sac is still inside. Am I screwed? Is it just going to come back? How can I get the sac out? Should I put a hydrocolloid on it overnight? Neosporin?I will try to see a derm tomorrow (I'm out of state of my normal derm) but am kind of freaking out. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advancetl;dr Old cyst finally burst, can't get sac out. What can I do?
