Beauty Tips For Body Care
Since freshman year of high school, I've had persistent cystic acne. I was able to nuke most of it by the time I was 17 with Accutane, but every three or four weeks I'd get a couple of small but fat, angry, and red cysts on the same two spots right off both corners of my mouth. I couldn't figure it out: I cycled through about every product in every proportion that there was, and I couldn't stop those sporadic but frequent events. After years of experimentation, I came to understand the problem not as a hygiene/topical thing but as a hormonal issue that in fact was related to my diet (per recommendation of just about everyone). Trial and error with a turnaround time +-3weeks -- my skin takes a while to react for some reason -- for each tested food took a long time, but I came up with a list of things that are likely to cause me problems and I thought I'd share them.Any and all dairy, limited to occasional slice of cheese on a big sandwich.eggsWhite bread. Wheat is fine.Creatine. Never has my face blown up so badly as when I went on creatine. All protein powders I tried. Including the weird vegan ones. All sugary drinks. No soda, no sweet tea, no juice. Just coffee and water for me.Most alcohol. Haven't quite figured these all out, but 25 beers every week was not my friend.Chocolate in particular, but generally candy.apparently whitening gum and toothpasteThings that have been good for me - - fatty protein like steak, peanuts - high fiber food like multigrain breadSticking to this has been huge for me, so if anyone is really frustrated about persistent issues, maybe something here is helpful. This started when I had to keep a food journal as a college athlete, and I started keeping tabs on what sorts of things I was consuming and when.
