[hair removal] I plucked an errant hair and didn't get it all the way. Now it's growing in underneath the skin. How do I get it out?

I have lighter skin and this is in a thinner skin, high visibility area. The spot over it is taking on the consistency of a rough scar. How do I remove it before the skin toughens up and makes it impossible to do so without seeing a dermatologist?
