Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hi all,Starting to lose hope... I've been on tretinoin (Curology) for about 10 months and saw really great success in terms of acne. But it seems (what I initially thought was) PIE/PIH has actually gotten slightly worse. I have faint reddish spots from old acne that have been on my face for literally 6+ years. On top of that, my skin has "aged" since starting Curology. I recently went to an aesthetician who told me that tretinoin can actually thin out skin, and the PIE/PIH on my face is actually due to the fact that my skin has been thinned out.Is there any truth to this? I read that tretinoin actually thickens skin, but in my experience, it's actually thinned it out and made my skin look older. About two years ago, I had also used mandelic acid (which is another form of vitamin A, similar to tretinoin if I'm not mistaken), which also seemed to thin out my skin but I didn't think anything of it at the time. Is there any way to "thicken" skin? Any and all help would be appreciated. For reference, I am 23 years old and have Asian skin. I have been using sunscreen on my face every day since I was 18. But my skin still looks older than most people my age :(
