Beauty Tips For Body Care
For the past month, I noticed that my skin was abnormally dry/dehydrated, texture got rough, got some raised bumps, whiteheads, and redness on my cheeks. This is normally where I experience the most problems, so I just thought that it was a result of weather change, that I finally got my oily/combo skin under control and my skin was actually dry/dehydrated this whole time. This led me to scour different skincare subreddits in search of more products to fix these problems since I have a pretty basic routine.Instead of going all crazy and introducing new products (was tempted to add in AHA, occlusives, etc) , I decided to to eliminate all the actives in my routine. In just one week, my skin's texture and tone improved immensly. The redness, bumps, dryness were gone and my skin is glowing like no other. It's insane what an improvement I saw.I'm slowly adding back in the prescription retinol and BHA... I was alternating them every other day. I thought my skin could handle that since I didn't really go through a major purging period since I've started it 3 months ago. I'm adding back the retinol to use 3x/ week and using BHA only as a spot treatment on days I don't use retinol. Going to add back in the BHA after some time.Skin type: Acne-prone, oily/combo with PIH & PIE.tldr; if you're products don't seem to be working, you're probably over-exfoliating.
