[Misc] to anyone partial to the Ordinaries products and using/considering using Differin gel for acne, the Ordinaries azelaic acid suspension is great for the initial breakout and combatting redness

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I've been using differin gel for about 6 weeks now, I'm barely past the worst of the dreaded initial breakout, but some things really helped me in the last two weeks and I wanted to share. I understand this could be irritating to some people's skin, so as always YMMV, but I have extremely sensitive skin and wasn't bothered by it at all.I've started buffering the differin gel with the Ordinaries azelaic acid suspension every other night, as I was looking for something that wouldn't pill up the way buffering differin with cerave PM does, and I already know my sensitive skin likes azelaic acid. I was a little worried at first, combining two actives like that, but I had just gotten past the worst of the dreaded initial breakout from differin and figured it wouldn't kill me to try, since my skin was already peeling and irritated but was in a stable and predictable spot. Although by this point it was significantly less irritation than when I first started differin, I hate walking around feeling like a snake shedding skin and getting redness from the most minor things. So I mixed the gel and the suspension half and half, and it works! I can't say it's moisturized my skin at all, in fact the azelaic acid suspension is very mattefying on its own over moisturizer in the day time without being drying at all, which is why I liked it in the first place. It's helped cut down on the redness and the peeling, and my skin is much calmer now that I've been mixing the two. I can actually see the good things differin is doing for my skin now (already faded some freckles I got on my forehead last summer before I was diligent about sunscreen) when I couldn't see any progress before because all I could see was flakes of irritated, patchy skin covering up the nice new skin I was making. It definitely helped clear the pimples I was getting from purging faster. I had a cyst on my chin go from so inflamed it hurt smile to deflated and nearly healed in 4 days. Which if you suffer from cystic acne, you know how short of a time span that is in comparison to not using actives and letting it heal on its own.And since we're talking about the ordinary (I sound like a paid spokesperson but I swear I'm not haha, I'm just stoked about the things this brand offers) I also like the ordinaries natural moisturizing factors + HA. I've recently begun using this too, and I feel it's make a difference in keeping my moisture barrier healthy. It IS fairly greasy looking though, but it's not sticky feeling or anything, and I only use it at night. I still use cerave pm twice a day, and I don't think the NMF + HA is a replacement by any means, but more of a booster in the form of an extra layer moisture to keep your skin well hydrated. My moisture barrier is so sensitive, it can take two weeks to repair it if I do something stupid like use a washcloth, so I'm always looking for ways to keep in intact while using actives and I think for the price point of this and using it more as an extra rather than your only moisturizer, it's worth a try if you like their products and have sensitive skin.
