So hear me out before you think I'm crazy. Popping pimples usually is bad, all that pressure causes bruising and damaged skin. With the needle method I create a tiny hole and gently press the contents out... best of both worlds right? I disinfect everything with alcohol before and after FYI. Sometimes my skin needs help draining these things, they don't really drain themselves when they're huge.
