Beauty Tips For Body Care
After I shave my legs my skin is very 'bumpy' and sore. If I run my hand over the skin it feels rough and I can see that the hairs are standing up but have a thin layer of skin over them. If it's cold and I get goosebumps this really hurts, like the hair is breaking through the skin! After about a week most of the hair has broken through. Surely most people don't have to wait this long between shaving? If I shave sooner the razor catches on the bumps, making then red and sore.I usually use a new razor blade and cover my legs in mineral oil to shave, which I do in the shower. I moisturise my legs afterwards. Recently I've been trying putting some stridex red/salycilic acid lotion on my legs to help the bumps. I've also tried some gentle exfoliation with a wash cloth and with an Italy towel (gently in the direction of hair or it's waaay too painful). What am I doing wrong? My skin was always a bit sensitive to shaving but never this bad!The only thing I can think of is that over the last few years on occasion I use strip wax on my legs. Could this have made the hair finer so it's now not able to break through the skin? I get my bikini line waxed professionally and I am quite prone to ingrown hairs. I shave my armpits without any of these issues. Any ideas? Can post a photo of helpful.
