[Review] My first impressions with The Ordinary HA + B5 and Azelaic Acid

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm not that religious about using serums or actives, I stick to my very basic routine but over the past month or 2 I've used each of these products a couple times a week, here's my very brief review.Hyaluronic Acid: I gave this guy the old college try, but it did not work out for me. Each time I used it I would develop one or two painful, angry, itchy pimples on a random part of my face, it felt more like a reaction than just clogged pores-- my skin isn't that sensitive so I've never had a reaction like that before. I had to throw it out after a few uses. Also... I did not feel like it was that hydrating, I didn't feel much of a difference from it anyway. I'm not a dermatologist, but maybe HA is like taking supplements, in that it will help someone who has a deficiency, but if your skin makes enough of it on its own it won't help hydrate that much...?Azelaic Acid: I bought this to help with what I'm assuming is mild rosacea, basically I have faint red patches on my cheeks that are always there, which I'm assuming are made of blood vessels-- my dad's side all has them. I can't say I've seen much of a difference in that department, but this stuff fades PIH very rapidly (and I had plenty left over from the reaction to the HA!). I have fair skin and although I'm lucky that I only get 1 or 2 pimples a month, the scars stay there for a looooong time, but using the Azelaic acid faded them significantly overnight. In terms of skin texture, my skin feels softer after I use it, but doesn't really look different visually. It also feels plumper, but feels pretty irritated, I'm really only used to weak acids like St. Ives pads. So I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about in terms of irritation and sun sensitivity, but I'll probably end up just using this product as a spot treatment for PIH because it does concern me.
