[Acne] TCA Chemical Peels got rid of my ice pick scars

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello SCA!I thought it might be helpful to share my experience with TCA Chemical Peels, and how it helped with my ice pick scars.I've dealt with severe acne for the last two years (we're talking a face full of cystic, nodule, and comedonal acne) and it recently cleared up. However, I was left with a ton of PIH, PIE and ice pick scars. I admit, I was a picker and I totally regret it.One day, I randomly came across a deal on Groupon for a chemical peel and decided to try it out because I was desperate to fade my PIH. Little did I know, this peel actually ended up getting rid of 90% of my ice pick scars in addition to fading my PIH.The first chemical peel I had was a glycolic acid peel. The aesthetician decided to start me off with a less harsh peel. The second and third time, I got a TCA chemical peel. Each peel has a downtime of about a week. During both peels, my skin burned upon application for about 1-2 minutes. Afterwards, my skin would be slightly red/tight, and throughout the week, my skin would literally peel off. It's kind of gross, but also cool to see new baby soft skin underneath all the peeling. I paid about $35 per treatment.I definitely think it's worth looking into if you are dealing with ice pick scars. Sadly, I did not take any pictures of my skin prior to the peels, but trust me when I say that both of my cheeks were covered in ice pick scars-- makeup made it look even worse. Now, my skin is pretty dang smooth, and my scars have faded significantly!
