Beauty Tips For Body Care
I noticed the Cleansing Balm texture was eerily close to coconut oil. It is a rinse-off makeup remover that is oil based and solid at room temperature - you melt it with your hands a bit as you put it on. I wondered if I could warm coconut oil enough to make it liquid, mix thoroughly with polysorbate 80, and get a DIY copy product. I also have been looking into shaving cream alternatives lately that would prevent some razor burn. Everyone and their mother recommends coconut oil, and I tried it and it sucked. I don't want the greasiness I'm always left with from it, and I have a lot of trouble getting greasy hairs rinsed out of the razor. SOOOO a couple nights ago these two ideas collided and I tried it out. Not only does it work, but I can adjust the ratios to make an oil that 100% rinses off or one that leaves just enough coconut oil behind to leave a smooth and moisturized feeling. After testing it, I can confidently report I've found something that would not only work as a makeup remover, but I'm going to mix up a big batch as my shaving cream, and I might mix up a partial-rinse batch to use as hand washer/lotion during the winter! Definitely worth messing around with some ratios if you're into DIY.
