Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm not looking for troubleshooting of my routine here, but perhaps validation that I'm not alone in these frustrations.I've been playing with my skincare since I found this sub in 2015, but honestly, I can't say I've noticed a difference from using any product I've tried. For SFs, blackheads, and large pores on my nose, I've tried:PC 8% AHA GelPC 2% BHA Pore Refining TreatmentPC 2% Salicylic Acid Exfoliating SolutionOCM with mixes of mineral oil, hemp oil, and castor oilStridex in the red boxMint Julep maskI've used these products consistently, too. (Not all at once, but testing each in its turn.) Especially where the BHAs, AHAs, and OCM are concerned, I've spent countless hours using this sub/the intertubes to make sure I'm using them correctly. I tried the OCM every which way--after using a mask, after using a BHA and mask, after using a BHA, AHA, mask, leaving the oil on, praying to jesus, sacrificing small animals, etc.-- and never got grits. And believe you me, the grits exist. Firmly. In my nose. All I can say for the BHAs/AHA is that my skin feels smoother? But I'm not supposed to be touching my face anyway, right? So it doesn't matter how it feels. And it looks no different. My skin issues generally don't bother me (just the aforementioned pore business, and a few zits around my period like clockwork) so perhaps I should shut up and be grateful? But it's frustrating that I've spent so much time, money, and effort for no results. It seems like so many folks on here are like "Omg a soft wind caressed my cheek and it grew a gerbil HALP" or "I started using Pedro's Magical Goo and now all my dreams are coming true!"I wish my skin reacted to anything so I knew where to go from here. Nothing even dries my skin out, or gives it an allergic reaction. It seems extremely... nonreactive.
