[Personal] Something I've noticed about this community/how we talk to one another

Beauty Tips For Body Care
So I've been reading this sub for a while and it has been a super informative and helpful community that has definitely helped my skin a lot! Cheers! One thing I've always noticed in threads here is that when OP has a skin issue with pictures they always like to include stuff like "it's gross, I know", "I'm disgusting", "I can't look at people" etc etc and I FEEL that because acne/scarring does a serious number on my self esteem. However, I have never ever seen a reply to someone's post or pictures with "ew yeah you are gross." People talk about helpful methods or products and usually speak from a place of empathy or at least sympathy.Maybe this sounds obvious, but it really did help me realize that we aren't defined by our skin. For a long time I really did think that when I walked in a room all anybody could see was my pimples and large pores. Or that when I finished a date, the dude immediately hopped on the phone to tell his friends about my gross skin. And I know I'll still have insecurities, but we're people, not skin! Maybe people do notice my pimples sometimes, but nobody gives a shit. Everyone knows what acne is, what skin is. Nobody is lessening your worth cause of your skin.I guess I just want to say thanks to the community for being kind and coming from a place of humaneness, even when the poster thinks their skin should somehow devalue them as a person.
