Beauty Tips For Body Care
VIB Rouge at Sephora gave me some fancy-ass first access to the latest DE cleanser - Beste Gel Cleanser. Bought it because the product description makes it sound like a dream cleanser for every skin concern known - oily, dry, sensitive, reptile... all of us will be saved if we buy and use this cleanser!Wrong. Here's what went down in my bathroom earlier tonight:So I began to remove my eye make-up with a cleansing balm. On a damp mascara-free face, I dispensed the world's smallest amount of Beste onto my palm, swooshed my hands together to see what this "gentle lather" was all about and... a white goo was made. Applied said white goo to face and swooshed all over. 5 seconds later - lord jesus. It stung SO bad. Instant regret . Now in full-on attempted get the goo off the face mode to make the stinging stop.Terrible, terrible, terrible to remove from skin - so much residue! About 20-30 splashes (of cold water at this point because so much burning) later, my now smooth skin was ready to be dried. I'm certain my skin is smooth because the surface layer of my skin has been chemically burned off.I look in the mirror post pat-down and I'm beet red (of course). 1 hour later I'm still beet red and my face is so damn dry. I'll wait another hour before putting on some soothing oil of some sort to moisturize.Dear Sephora,I'm sending the cleanser back. The packaging that I love DE for is cool - plastic texture feels rubbery, neon orange cap is fun. Dispenser is garbage and seems like it'll leak all over at some point. This is the worst Beste cleanser ever.Serious note - I'm sure they'll be reformulating this product. There are several negative reviews online (so far) and in the past they've improved their products (both formula and packaging) based on customer feedback. I'm not saying don't buy it, I'm just saying don't put it on your face.edit - spelling
