Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have been using all four products for the past few weeks and wanted to share my thoughts. I would usually wait a month or so before evaluating product performance, but have noticed an immediate impact with all but the Buffet serum. For reference, my skin is combination, acne-prone (mostly CCs).Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%: I love this stuff. I spread it all over my face on days I'm makeup-free and use it as a spot treatment at night. It's a bit silicone-y, thick to spread, and I don't see it playing well under makeup or many other skincare products for that matter (I use it last in my routine), but that's where the cons end for me. In the first week of using it, I noticed an immediate brightness in my overall skintone. I didn't necessarily see deduction in redness of acne marks, but can't speak for how effective this formulation is for rosacea. It was just that my complexion had a radiant, translucent-like finish. As for acne, it flattened any inflammatory bumps within hours without leaving them brown and purple the way BP does for me. CCs were easier to extract and I've noticed reduction in them which I'm hoping is being prevented by the azelaic acid. But, seriously, as a spot treatment, this is a wonderful, powerful replacement to BP or tea tree oil which can leave my skin dry.Squalane Oil: I ended up purchasing this instead of the rose hip seed oil, only because it has a better shelf life. I use it as a moisturizer on days I'm makeup-free and was surprised at how quickly it absorbed. It's actually a difficult oil to get from fingertips to face because of how fast my skin starts to drink it, so I sometimes just use the dropper right over my face. It's considered a light oil, but it's slightly heavier than the Josie Maran Argan Oil Light on my skin. I haven't had any reactions or breakouts, so I'm pleased about that. I feel like it provides a fresh, non-greasy glow to my face and I will definitely repurchase.Edited to add: The squalane oil works amazingly as a lip moisturizer, too! It sinks into them rapidly, making it ideal for lip-product prep without leaving a sheen or waxy feel like with vaseline and lip balms. And it gives my lips a natural plumpness.Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG: Purchased this for the under-eye puffiness I get from fluid-retention and sleepless nights. Used it after a night of crying and it eliminated the puffiness by half, when it would have taken a couple hours to go down on its own. I also apply it nights I know I'm not going to be getting much sleep and would say the results are a hit or miss the next morning - sometimes I'm surprised by how faint the eye bags are and other times I wonder if it did anything. In all, I wouldn't use this if you're aiming for long-term or anti-aging results, but more of a quick-fix to puffiness/minimal darkness. Also, this is difficult to wear under makeup - takes forever to dry and leaves a thin film that's prone to flaking off.Buffet: I thought this would be a little boost in my skincare routine considering all the peptides it boasts, but haven't really noticed a drastic difference overall. It applies a bit tacky, offers minimal hydration, and some plumping. If anything, it makes me feel like I'm doing something good for my skin. When I put it over acne marks I've picked at, I think it could be helping with the healing process. It's not an immediate difference sort of product, but I like it, I'll keep using it because it sort of ties my regimen together and delivers some supplementary ingredients.
