Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hey, what's going on everyone. I'm a guy, and a friend of mine referred me here after I asked her for advice on improving my skin and really getting rid of acne scars. I used to think skincare was only for girls, but now I see what I've been missing out on.So I have brown skin since I am black. I've had acne since middle school, and on my face it's gotten much better, only a few pimples here and there currently; my chest and back are very smooth as well. The issue is that in the past my acne was bad on my face and chest and absolutely horrible on my back. As a result, there are a good amount of acne scars on my face and chest that are fading extremely slowly, and my back is littered with dark craters EVERYWHERE that just won't leave. And yes, I am very careful with the manner with which I apply shampoo and conditioner, I change my pillow cases every two days, and I wear two different clean shirts during the day and one clean shirt during the night.I've read all the relevant info on the side bar, and what I plan to do for my cleanser is get Cerave foaming facial, then for moisturizing get Cerave PM (since it has niacinamide). As for treating my PIH, I see a multitude of treatments recommended, and I've read so many posts on this sub and other sources that all say different things about the efficacy of these different substances. I understand that some of the following acids might be classified as AHAs or BHAs and will also help with general exfoliation and rejuvenation. So for PIH, which should I get from the following treatment options: Glycolic acid, salycilic acid, benzoyl peroxide, lactic acid, mandelic acid, azelaic acid, kojic acid/soap, hydroquinone, arbutin, retinoids, niacinamide, vitamin C. (Please give me recommendations if you know of other options that are better than the ones listed).Which will most assuredly fade my dark acne scars? Also, from the ingredients you believe will work best, which specific products would you recommend that contain them?I'm only 18, and my parents will not allow me to see a dematologist since "you only see a dermatologist when something is seriously wrong with your skin". So I need some product(s) that will really work. The amount listed on skincare communities throughout the web is honestly overwhelming, and I don't wanna buy everything and spend hundreds just to do trial after trial. Thanks everyone. Great community here!
