How I got rid of my acne

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have just discovered this sub from a link someone posted. Apologies if this has been said before but I wanted to tell each comment that mentioned acne as to how I fixed it, but thought it would be a better idea to put it here. Note - I've just finished writing this and I do apologise for the length. I can promise you I am not trying to sell anything, but just tell me story of how I cleared my acne. If it works for just one person I'll be elated. So backstory is that I started to get acne late, early 20s after moving countries. I was always a bit spotty as a teenager but nothing close to the acne I had. I left it too late to stop at the scarring I still have quite prominently but I rarely get any spots any more.By the time I had it for years it got really bad. It was to the point that both my cheeks were red, inflames, and often bled. I used literally every acne product I could and never got any relief. I spent a bloody small fortune on that products too. So I went so see a dermatologist. The dermatologist explained to me that what I was doing with my routine and products was drying my face out. In doing this, my face would therefore produce extra oil which was the cause of my acne. That and hormones I think. What she recommended was to throw out all the products I had and to use oil. Now this is really affordable as you can just use normal oil you have in your kitchen, however I would recommend staying away from coconut oil as I've read conflicting things on it and how it sinks into the skin. My personal preference would be to stay away from it, but I will leave that decision to you. What I was recommended was to use oil on my face. This was more for the evening. So my evening routine involves wetting my face with a face cloth which has been wettened (this isn't a word but let's pretend) and I leave this on my face for a minute or so. This opens up the pores. My next step involves rubbing oil all over my face. I massage it into the skin and it's actually a really great makeup remover too. I used to wear some heavy duty eye makeup and I would rub oil all over my face and the oil would remove even the most stubborn of waterproof mascaras with no issue. I then use the warm face cloth to wipe that oil off. On the days I got makeup on I would repeat the oil to ensure I am massing clean oil into my skin rather than oil that has makeup in it. After wiping it off, I add a thin layer of oil on my face and rub it in. I do not wash this thin layer of oil off. It's not going to fully absorb but it will fairly quickly. I then head to bed without adding anything else.My morning routine is to use a light cleanser in the shower. Every 2 or 3 I use a light exfoliating face wash instead, to remove the dead skin. At the start of this routine when my acne was bad, I would apply a very thin layer of oil when I was out of the shower and then once dry I add my other stuff. I currently don't add the oil in the morning because oil on the skin is not good for being in the sun. I currently use an aloe Vera serum and moisturiser with spf30. Once absorbed I can apply makeup as needed. So I was incredibly dubious about cleaning my face with oil. But I'd paid a lot for the dermatologist appointment so I thought I'd try it for a month or so and see how it went. A fortnight or so after starting this routine I met up with a friend I've not seen since stating this routine and they commented on how good my face was looking. Well, as good as acne covered skin was. The oil had reduced the redness, the size of the acne and it didn't look as inflamed either.I can't remember how long it took to clear my acne, but I do know that I've never had it since. I've been doing this routine for over 5 years and have even passed it onto friends who don't have acne issues but they found their face was less oily and overall healthier. Now the oil. There's SO MANY on the market lately and a huge range in prices too. However when i started I got like a litre or so of an oil from the supermarket. The first oil i ever used for it was grapeseed oil. I got a decent sized bottle for approximately AUD$10ish. I have also tried many oils over the year but you really don't need to spend much for this. I think a bottle of oil lasts me a good few months, which is significantly cheaper than the thousands I had spent on acne products that are available. I currently make my own oil combination. I use grapeseed oil as a base but I also add rosehip oil and a vitamin e serum.I've been doing this for 5-10 years. Since then I rarely get any spots on my face. I still have really bad scarring and unfortunately that is now what I spend my money on. However I'm quite sure these products are garbage and really only something like fillers or lasers are the only way they're going away.I will also mention to persist with it. After the first few days I had noticed my face getting worse but just like everything else, your body has to get used to things. It has to relearn that your face has enough oil and stop overproducing the excess oil that was the main cause of my acne. And again, because everyone's face is different, people have different reactions to it. But out of the say 20 people I've told, 1 person doesn't like it. I've even recommended it to someone with bad rosacea and it's helped them too.I do apologise for the length of this. I have a tendency to ramble but I wanted to try and get all the information in there. But if anyone has any questions I'll do my best to answer them. And if just one person tries this and see improvements I'll just be so thrilled. Acne really sucks and can have such an impact on self confidence. All I can say to that is no one else around you notifies your acne like you you do. But I do get it's painful and awful and has left my physically scarred. To anyone reading this, I wish you the very best of luck. Be persistent and keep at this for a few weeks for your body to adjust. And be careful of having only oil on your face and being in the sick.I really hope this helps someone out like it did for me. If not, I do apologise for wasting anyone's time. Good luck to you all 😊
