[Personal] My boyfriend thinks sunscreen causes skin cancer, RANT

Beauty Tips For Body Care
Some info about me, I live in California and I have never met anybody paler than myself. I am extremely white and burn very quickly in the sun, it feels like within seconds. In the past I was inconsistent about wearing sunscreen because I am acne prone ALL over my body and all the brands I tried always broke me out. But after discovering this subreddit, I am recommitted to protecting my poor body against the sunshine. After some trial and error (and money), I have finally found sunscreens that work for me! I try to wear it everyday and I clothe myself well when going outside. (I’m also buying one of those cute sun parasols which I’m super excited about)But my boyfriend is one of those nut jobs who thinks all chemicals are evil and sunscreen gives us cancer so we can go to the doctor and get medications that make cancer worse so corporations make more money cause doctors are evil also chemtrails give me my acne bLAH BLAH blah… Every time I put on sunscreen I feel like I’m doing something illegal because I have to hide it from him or else I’ll have to hear another rant from him about how I’m ruining my body. And read stupid articles on his phone that “prove” how horrible sunscreen is. He’ll BEG me to stop putting it on and make me feel stupid for trying to protect my skin. Whenever I get a new freckle/mark/etc I’ll be wary of it and make a comment about how I hope it’s not serious and he’ll be like, “it’s SKIN CANCER from all that sunscreen you keep putting on! You’re killing yourself!” Or it’s from all those vaccines I got when I was a baby, eyeroll.I also have to rebottle my skincare items or remove the labels or else he’ll freak out over any ingredient he can’t pronounce. Benzoyl Peroxide has been the only thing that has helped reduce my acne, and I’ve tried a whole lot of things... I also use prescription Retin-A, AHA’s, BHA’s and Niacinamide and he thinks I’m making myself sick by using these things cause they sound spooky. And I agree with him on a couple things, companies can put some questionable ingredients in products and I avoid my little list of no’s just to be safe. But what I use is safe and he refuses to believe me. He has beautiful, smooth, poreless, amazing skin. His “secret” is to just rinse it with water once a day and occasionally wash it with his shampoo! He says I should try baking soda instead of my benzoyl peroxide cleanser [CRINGE]. It’s infuriating. Like I haven’t tried just using water, I’ve had moderate/severe acne since I was in elementary school. I’ve wasted so much time, tears and money on different products, medications, routines… I’ve tried the “all natural” route and that only resulted in the worst acne I’ve ever had.The sunscreen’s I use are from Derma E, you know, the natural ones that are pretty much just zinc oxide with some plant stuff in them and less than 1% preservatives. How spooky. But according to him, blocking out any sun is bad and we need to build up immunity to it, his super wise health teacher in college had skin cancer and she got rid of it by sitting in the sun! He’s always trying to convince me to sit out in the sun unprotected so I can tan and build up my sun tolerance, yeah right boy. He can say this because he is a very dark Vietnamese dude and has never had a sunburn in his life, just a nice little tan. I walk to my car 30 feet away and get a sunburn! I am a pure white, Kat Von D L41, Scandinavian gal.Anyways, sorry this is so long but I had to complain to people who understand me.
