[acne] Anyone had success with cutting out acne products and just moisturizing and cleansing? I have a damaged moisturize barrier and my skin burns, so I think I'm going to cut out all actives for now.

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I have hormonal cystic acne that has continued to get worse, despite seeing a dermatologist and endocrinologist (I'm on birth control). It's all over my cheeks and chin. Topicals helped at first, but now they don't seem to do much (I've tried a very long list, if anyone is interested I can track down the exact ones) and my skin is very sensitive. It gets red easily and is flaky. My thinking is, if I'm going to be stuck with acne no matter what, I might as well not have red flaky burning skin on top of that. So for the past few days, I've only been using CeraVe Cleanser, moisturizer, and rose hip seed oil.I have a few more zits, but I'm doing my best to leave them alone. It isn't much worse than it has been the last couple weeks, and it already feels less dry. I hate that it has come to this, but I think I'm going to try this for two weeks to give my skin a break and then gradually reintroduce Acczone and Differin.Thoughts? I'm wondering if the reason it kept getting worse is because I kept applying more and more harsh products thinking maybe it would help. Has anyone else ever tried just giving your skin a break for a couple weeks when nothing is working?
