Beauty Tips For Body Care
Hello everyone! I joined Reddit in the hopes of hearing a few opinions and getting some advice. Here's a picture of my skin. My entire face (mostly my cheeks and chin) is covered in small, closed comedones. The kind that don't have heads and can't be squeezed. Also, blackheads. As a result, my skin looks congested, bumpy and textured all over. I also get occasional pustules. I used to get way more, but I reaaaally cut down on dairy and sugar, and drink way more water. So that helps keep the acne flare ups down, more or less. I'm tan right now so it isn't as visible, but I also have pretty serious red hyper pigmentation from past acne (mostly my cheeks and chin). My skin is more or less combination, not too dry not too oily. Sometimes feels pretty dehydrated. Mildly sensitive, but not as bad as it could be. My current routine is as follows:AM and PM: - Clinique oily skin formula face wash (with spin brush) - Perricone MD oil free hydrating cream - Tea tree oil for spot treatmentDon't be fooled by how few products I use. I've just been tanning all summer (I know, no good. But it's the only thing that gives me some relief and let's me go bare faced in public) so I've stopped using chemical exfoliants temporarily.Anyways, I'm looking to add some AHA or BHA exfoliants back into my routine. Right now, I'm considering the following: - Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid - Dr Dennis Gross alpha beta peels pads (tried them before, the sensitive skin ones. Worked okay, but no dramatic difference. Maybe I should try the extra strength ones? The presence of SD alcohol in them is kinda off putting, though...) - Derma E AHA overnight peelSo, I have a few questions for y'all: 1. Which of the above listed exfoliants do you recommend? 2. BHA, AHA or both? 3. What could be causing my full, congested pores? I've been reading a lot about fatty alcohols? 4. Any other recommendations?Thank you guys so much in advance. I've been struggling with my skin since I was about 15 (I'm 20 now.) I've been on birth control, had multiple chemical peels, tried following a dermatologist prescribed routine, everything.
