Beauty Tips For Body Care
When clients leave honest reviews on Sephora.com, helpful or not, they are sharing their experiences and deserve to be heard. It’s no secret that brands can and do pay for positive reviews of their own products, but how much involvement does Sephora have? Sadly, and as much as I love Sephora as a company, they are stacking the game against you when it comes to what types of reviews you’ll see.The published reviews for Sunday Riley’s new Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask are a prime example of this behavior. Today, August 4th, it has 50 reviews, a near perfect rating (46 are five stars, 4 are four stars). But, the thing is, it actually doesn’t. Several clients who put their hard earned dollars down for Saturn shared experiences that were not four or five stars, yet Sephora will delete these reviews within moments of being published to the site.If you are very fast, you can screen grab them as I did (attached). These are real reviews, you can even look up the clients by the Community on Sephora, but you’ll never get to read their experiences with Saturn. Almost as fast as they go up, Sephora will take them down.Sephora preaches unbiased environment for beauty, but this doesn’t appear to be the case. How can any client fairly decide where to put their beauty dollars when Sephora is manipulating what reviews are published? How can we trust anything now that a brand on the receiving end of this behavior says or does?
