Beauty Tips For Body Care
I went to a lady who does skin peels and facials (I'm really blanking on what the professional term is). She was recommended by many of the women in my mom's circle of rich Russian friends (this will be relevant later). I went, she did a pretty standard peel and gave me a consultation on my acne. She said I have to go gluten free and recommended Benadryl cream for my face. Now, this is not the first time someone in this circle of rich Russians has said go gluten free. This community absolutely loves to hitch on to health fads without doing much legitimate research. They all believe microwaving your food will cause your food to give you cancer, gluten is bad for everyone, and you need to regularly do detox cleanses. So, I take what they say with a mountain of salt. I figured a skin professional wouldn't be naive enough to fall for a fad without doing adequate research, so i take her recommendation a bit more seriously, but still, I'm really skeptical. To my knowledge I'm not gluten intolerant. I suppose the rich Russians could argue that I am because my acne is the proof of the allergic reaction. Can gluten be a cause of acne in a person who doesn't have any other bad reaction to gluten?Edit: I have acne only on my face and it's concentrated on the cheekbones and chin. My dermatologists have never said anything about gluten; rather, they have said it is a hormonal imbalance brought on by sensitivity to testosterone. They have recommended acutane, but I haven't taken the plunge on that yet.
