Beauty Tips For Body Care
I'm obviously brand new to Reddit, so I've tried to make sure I'm following SOP for posting. Preemptive apologies if I've already angered the Reddit gods.I've been stalking this sub (I think that's the correct term...?) for about 6 weeks now in an effort to finally have skin that I don't feel the need to hide under foundation just to check the mail. I have what I consider to be combination skin (super oily T-zone and randomly flaky cheeks eye roll) and PCOS so I get those fun little hormonal cysts along my jaw and chin from time to time.Pre-SCA routine was basically whatever face wash suited my fancy at the time and Olay Complete moisturizer for combo/oily skin, or sometimes the Equate knock-off of Cetaphil in the tub if my cheeks were doing that annoying flaking thing.Updated routine is AM: Equate's CeraVe foaming wash knock-off Equate SA cleansing pads knock-off (comparable to the red box Stridex ones, I think) Thayer's alcohol-free witch hazel toner Clean & Clear gel moisturizer (this stuff has alllllmost changed my life on its own...it's the only moisturizer I've ever tried that actually controls the oil)PM: Same as above except swap the gel moisturizer for Neutrogena's Anti-Wrinkle creamIn general I'd say my skin feels pretty balanced, especially considering I've thrown SA and retinol at it for the first time in like a decade. It's not really "plump and dewy," though, and since it can tend toward being a little taught, I was wondering if perhaps I need to add a little richer moisturizer, at least at night. Can I put some vaseline or another moisturizer on top of the Neutrogena without impeding the retinol's efficacy?SOOOOOO, this was all a very long way of asking if anyone has some kind of objective litmus test or criteria they use for determining that you're not unwittingly slowly dehydrating your skin...? It seems like aging happens slowly and then all at once so I'd like to not wake up to my 30th birthday in 2 years with the face of a 40 year-old
