Beauty Tips For Body Care
I know that there has been lots of discussion about whether people will continue to purchase Deciem products in light of recent events. That being said, there are still a lot of us using the products (particularly TO) either because we have just recieved them, or because of their affordability. I've seen so many posts asking for advice on how to use them, and people having problems that i thought it might be helpful to have a thread that is dedicated to this where people can share their tips? Sorry if this has been done elsewhere, but I have been unable to find anything similar through the search! I see so many people giving up when some simple tweaks could potentially save a lot of grief/wasted product. There is also a wealth of information that people have gleaned through Deciem customer service, blogs and articles that could be really helpful. My top ten tips (with the caveat, as always, that YMMV):TO serum or liquid-type products work much better when mixed together, or with your moisturiser. If you find your buffet/HA/SA/niacinimide etc 'froths up' or pills when you layer it, try this first before giving up! They are designed to be used together, but due to the formulations, don't always play well when layered. The 23% Vit C and HA is really gritty. However, you can mix it with a little HA serum in the palm of your hand before application which will rehydrate the HA granules nicely, and allow it to absorb more easily. You can mix the revestrol and ferulic acid with the Vit C serums/lotions to increase the effectiveness. Extra brownie points if you can add a drop of Vit E oil too!For some skin types, TO oil-containing products can sit on top of your skin leaving it greasy. For example the rosehip oil, or actives in squalane. Again - try mixing with your moisturiser to improve absorption. For dry skinned foundation wearers, a drop of TO oil in your foundation works wonders for ensuring you aren't left with a flaky/powdery finish during the day.Anything with sillicone in MUST be used as the final step in your routine. The sillicones act as an occlusive, so if you try to put more products on top, it will pill like crazy. The exception to this rule is during the day when you're wearing sunscreen. You need to make sure your sillicone product is absolutely dry, and wash your hands before applying your sunscreen. The sillicones stick to your palms and may cause your sunscreen to pill!Deciem recommend that no more that 3 serums are used together, and that your skin can't absorb more than this. I'm not a skincare scientist, so I can't speak for the validity of this claim. However, the more products you use at the same time (particularly actives), the more likely you are to experience irritation - especially if you are new to them. The NMF is a fab moisturiser, but is unlikely to be enough for dryer skin. You might want to mix in a few drops of oil, and ensure that you have added hydrating layers beneath. You might need to layer a thicker moisturiser over the top if your skin can handle it.The TO glycolic toner is fab - but pressing a soaked cotton pad gently over your skin in the asian beauty fashion can help reduce some of the initial redness that can be caused by the friction of 'sweeping' the pad over your skin.I'm sure it doesn't need to be mentioned on this sub, but just incase for any noobs - TO products can be great and affordable and it's tempting to pile in (guilty!) But it's imperative to patch test and introduce things slowly to avoid upsetting your skin.Anybody else have any tips they'd be willing to share?Edit: tip 6 assumes a chemical sunscreen is used. Physical sunscreens will need to go on first.
