[PSA] Found out I'm D-vitamin deficient, big impact on my skin!

Beauty Tips For Body Care
I don't really post here but last week I learned something I haven't really read about and I hope it might help some of you :)For the past six months I have been scratching my head over what the hell is going on with my skin. My cheeks are soooo dry and no amount of moisturizer helps. The skin is itchy and red, not only on my face but my legs to. And it could itch like crazy after a hot shower. I had no idea what was going on, this is VERY uncharacteristic for my skin.I went to the doctor, for a different thing. But they did some blood work, and when it came back it showed I was really low on vitamin D. A normal person should have somewhere between 75-200nmol/L, I had 39nmol/L.She said this causes (among other things) very dry, red and itchy skin (specially after hot showers)! She prescribed some heavy duty supplements. I had no idea vitamin D had such a big impact on your skin, all I've every read about is vitamin E! So now I'm taking the supplements, but its a slow build, I'll do some new tests in three months. So I thought maybe there is someone else out there like me, who can't figure out what the frick' is going on with their suddenly very dry skin! Take your D-vitamins! Especially if you live somewhere the sun don't shine all year (like Scandinavia) and if your skin type is even slightly darker (southern European) you can't process enough sun for you vitamin D needs in winter!TL;DR Dry, itchy (red) skin might be due to vitamin D deficiency, take your supplements!
