Beauty Tips For Body Care
About two weeks ago I nearly reached my breaking point with consistent hormonal breakouts along my chin and around my mouth. I would get clusters of white-heads that would return even after properly lancing and draining, and I would get two or three large cysts that would never come to head no matter what I did. I tried Benzoyl Peroxide, salycilic acid, azelaic acid, glycolic acid, aztec clay mask with ACV, tea tree oil, hydrocolloid bandages, retinoid, vitamin c, spearmint tea, pretty much anything you could buy over the counter. After searching through some hormonal acne posts I came across a few people recommending Calamine lotion for spot treatment. They compared it to Mario Badescu's drying lotion and claimed it was a HG against hormonal acne. I was skeptical but a $5 bottle of calamine lotion wasn't a huge investment so it was worth trying. I marched my butt into the nearest drug store, bought a bottle of it, and tested it out on a cluster of white-heads around my mouth and one cyst on my chin. I cleaned my face like normal and using a Q-tip I applied the lotion to the acne and left it on overnight. You guys. YOU GUYS. Calamine lotion no joke gave me a crisis of faith. It may be a true bottled miracle. The white-heads were not only gone the next morning, but they left no lingering hyperpigmentation. The cyst was nothing more than a small white head that I easily lanced, drained, and sterilized. No swelling underneath, no redness.I wish I had found this sooner. Years of fighting with self esteem issues over persistent and unrelenting acne could have been avoided with a single $5 bottle of calamine lotion. I will try to get some before/after pictures next time I get a breakout so everyone can see the results.
