Beauty Tips For Body Care
Mid April 2018: went to emergency room for painful burns across arms and chest from a cooking accident. They gave me lots of painkillers, made sure I didn't need skin grafts, and sent me home. They put adhesive tape on my burn, which ripped off when I changed my bandage. It was too painful to wear clothes, so I was just topless in the emergency room and in the ambulance, very weird surreal experience. Thank god for painkillers.1st few days: Incredibly painful, barely remember this week from being on painkillers. But I had a mission to keep my skin moisturized with vaseline and bacitracin. I kept my skin covered with gauze. I washed with unscented soap 1x/day.3 days: I got medicated Xeroform Petrolatum gauze, and a sulfa burn ointment from my dermatologist.7 days: my skin started to itch and peel. And I mean it FUCKING ITCHED. Like I wanted to take a BBQ bristle cleaner to it. But I refrained, kept it moist and hydrated, and was vigilant about applying ointment, and covering it with a gauze.2 months: I have mild eczema in the spot that was ripped off from the initial adhesive bandage which I am treating with a Rx steroid cream. I cover up my chest and apply zinc and physical sunscreen. If no one knew I was burned, they could maybe barely see tan lines. My mom calls it the worlds most expensive peel. I actually had a few dots and red spots prior to my burn which are completely gone! My biggest pain is continued bills, but that is hardly permanent. I am incredibly lucky my face wasn't touched, and it could have been MUCH worse! I am still amazed at how well I healed - I was almost completely healed after 9 days.EDIT: Forgot to add: After 5 days, my skin was VERY painful. A physical therapist family friend recommended I stretch my skin by opening up my chest and arms. At first very painful, but almost immediate pain relief. https://imgur.com/a/mlXo6Ow
